Thanks for all your comments on my recent journal post asking if you were OK with the subject of muscle boys. Although I could not manage to reply to all of them, it was interesting reading the different viewpoints you guys had.
You would have noticed that my most recent works have all been pencil lineart, which is quite different to my usual digital coloured work. Life has been very busy, but I've also been sketching a lot of ideas for new stuff. I've decided to upload the sketches as doing the lineart and colours is time-consuming and is often interrupted due to work or a loss of interest. In fact, the uploaded 'sketches' have gone through at least 2 drafts each before I'm satisfied with the result.
Doing the lineart and colours digitally has a lot of advantages, like enabling me to draw smoother curves and straighter lines, plus add depth in shade. However, pencil sketches also enable more dynamism which is usually lost when I digitally trace over the sketch.
So far, I'm pretty satisfied with the Yuuta series. The thumbnails don't look great, but I get to convey my ideas quickly. No wonder deviants like ydt81 and me-go use this as their main medium! While I won't be completely abandoning digital works, you can expect more sketches like these in the future.
